Welcome to Dover Recreational Soccer!
(formally known as House League)
**Please note that the format of Recreational Soccer has changed substantially from its previous form.**
Recreational Soccer offers training & game play two days a week.
One session will be on Saturdays, and dependant on your age group, Mondays & Tuesdays starting the Saturday following Labor Day weekend.
We play into
early November, taking Columbus Day weekend off.
We play on the Shaw’s Lane Fields (near the Garrison School
off Back River Road).
The objective of the Recreational Soccer is to introduce kids to basic
soccer skills. We
typically have players with a wide range of experience and skills at
all levels.
Each Saturday session consists of practice followed by a game
against another team.
The 4 age groups will play at the following times:
U6 (Kindergarten) 9:00am – 10:00am
U8
(Grades 1 and 2) 10:45am – 12:15pm
U10
(Grades 3 and 4) 9:00am – 10:30am
U12
(Grades 5 and 6) 10:45am – 12:15pm
Players need to have shin guards and a water bottle.
Cleats are not necessary.
We will provide each player with a team shirt and a soccer
ball, which they should bring to all sessions, but we encourage them to
play with the ball at home to work on skills.
Once you have signed up, we typically have rosters complete by early
August, at which time we will notify you by e-mail that you have
been put on a team. The
coaches will receive the rosters later in the month and should be in
touch with their players to provide more specific information.
Our policy is to offer refunds until the second week of play, or if
approved by the DSA Board in cases of extenuating circumstances.
Recreational Soccer Coaches are encouraged to have taken at least the NHSA U6-U8 Youth Module. This course entails attendance at a class that last approx. 6hrs. Details on this course, upcoming dates and course notification sign ups can be found here: NHSA Coaching Courses
